Implant dentures

Dental Implant Suite is a team of AHPRA-registered dental practitioners dedicated to providing ethical, evidence-based care in purpose-built clinical environments across Victoria.

Implant dentures are secured using dental implants placed into the jawbone.

This provides increased stability and support, helping many patients eat, speak, and smile with greater confidence

Implant dentures
may be suitable for
patients who:

have lost most or all teeth in the upper or lower jaw

currently wear removable dentures but find them unstable

experience difficulty chewing or speaking due to denture movement

want a more secure long-term alternative to traditional dentures

are seeking improved comfort and everyday function

Suitability depends on factors such as bone levels, gum health, medical history, and healing capacity. A comprehensive consultation is required to determine whether this treatment is appropriate for you.

Alternatives to
traditional dentures

01

Full-arch implant dentures

Oral sedation

Full-arch implant dentures

This option may suit patients who are missing most or all teeth in an arch. Typically, multiple implants are placed to support a denture that clips securely into position. Your dentist will confirm whether this is suitable for your needs.

02

Permanent partial dentures

Nitrous oxide (“happy gas”)

Permanent partial dentures

For patients missing only a few teeth, implant-supported partial dentures may be considered. These replace one or more missing teeth and can be supported by dental implants to improve stability and comfort.

03

Fixed implant bridges

General anaesthesia

Fixed implant bridges

In some cases, patients may be better suited to a fixed implant bridge rather than a removable denture. Your dentist will explain the differences and recommend the most appropriate solution.

The 4-step
treatment process

Consultation and treatment planning

01

Your journey begins with a detailed consultation. Your dentist will assess your oral health, discuss your concerns, and use imaging such as x-rays or 3d scans to evaluate bone structure and suitability for implants.

Preparation for
implant placement

02

Before surgery, planning is completed to support accurate implant positioning. You’ll receive clear pre-operative instructions and have the opportunity to ask questions so you feel informed and supported.

Implant placement and provisional restoration

03

Titanium dental implants are placed into the jawbone in carefully planned positions. A healing period is required to allow the implants to fuse with the bone (osseointegration). Some patients may be fitted with temporary dentures during this time.

Review, restoration, and ongoing care

04

Once healing is complete, your custom implant-supported denture is securely attached to the implants. Follow-up appointments are arranged to ensure comfort, stability, and long-term oral health support.
